Richard has recently returned to New Zealand and is now taking on the Northland region for Apollo Auctions NZ.

He began his real estate career in Perth in 2003 before returning home to Auckland, where his passion for the auction process truly took hold. As a salesperson, Richard was drawn to the energy, transparency, and results of the auction method — quickly becoming a strong advocate and successful auction agent.

In 2010, he stepped up to the auctioneer’s rostrum in Auckland, determined to master the craft. Early success saw him recognised with multiple industry awards and inspired him to train with some of the country’s top auctioneers.

Since then, Richard has worked across diverse markets — from metropolitan Auckland to regional Tauranga — navigating every kind of market condition. He has held senior auctioneering roles with large franchise groups, independent brands, and boutique auction houses throughout New Zealand.

For years, Richard has also trained agents in the auction process from beginner through to expert level. He still gets a buzz from helping others discover the power and versatility of the auction method.
