Richard has recently returned to New Zealand and is now bringing the Apollo Auctions experience to the Northland and Auckland regions, and beyond for Apollo Auctions NZ.

He began his real estate career in Perth in 2003 before returning home to Auckland, where his passion for the auction process truly took hold. As a salesperson, Richard was drawn to the energy, transparency, and results of the auction method — quickly becoming a strong advocate and successful auction agent.

In 2010, he stepped up to the auctioneer’s rostrum in Auckland, determined to master the craft. Early success saw him recognised with multiple industry awards and inspired him to train with some of the country’s top auctioneers.

Since then, Richard has worked across diverse markets — from larger cities such as Auckland and Perth to regional centres including Tauranga, Busselton, Whangarei and Taupo and now, in Kerikeri and Kaitaia — navigating every kind of market condition. He has held senior auctioneering roles with large franchise groups, independent brands, and boutique auction houses throughout New Zealand and Western Australia.

For years, Richard has trained agents in the auction process from beginner through to expert level. He still gets a buzz from helping others discover the power and versatility of the auction method.
